New to our resource room this year will be a fairly
traded goods table. We are partnering
with the Regla de Oro Gallery (meaning “Golden Rule”) in Minneapolis to provide
crafts and other goods made by artisans from around the world. As one web site defines it, “Fair trade
fosters an equitable and fair partnership between businesses and organizations
in the developed world and producers in the developing world. Moreover, Fair
Trade businesses cultivate long-term and direct relationships with producers,
because they know these connections are a highly effective way to help
producers help themselves.” (www.shopbeleza.com/fair_trade.html) We are excited to provide an
opportunity for our meeting participants to purchase high quality goods while
also assisting people in the developing world to earn a living wage.
You can visit the gallery on line at www.regladeoro.com.
